One of my big ‘WHY’s’ for wanting to help others going through the change is to change women’s perception of the menopause. Most women, not all, see the menopause as a negative experience. lets just list some of the symptoms that many women but not all suffer.
hot flushes/sweat
low libido
everything drying up!
aches and pains
mood swings
health issues
fatigue
sense of loss
ageing
loss of fertility
Reading through that list does seem a bit depressing right?
How about some positives? We chose how we look at this stage of life. how about we flip the whole menopause on its head and embrace this exciting new stage in our life? I went through an early menopause at the age of 38. Yes it was a shock and yes i grieved for my fertility and worried about what would happen next. Now I have accepted it and I have chosen to use it to change my business. That is a massive positive change. That change doesnt have to be big. If you feel overwhelmed by the symptoms of the menopause why not pick one thing and see if you can change your thinking.
So back to the positive list….
grown up kids – less responsibility (apparently ha ha)
no more birth control
more confident in your own skin
time for YOU
no more periods
enjoy a new libido
no more PMS
can you add to the positive list?
